Tech themes of 2017: Our PR clients offer their predictions
Comit’s 2016: A Year in Review
Here at Comit, we’re in slight disbelief that the year has come to a close already. It seems like only yesterday that we were flicking through our 2016 year planner, thinking how far-off even February seemed, let alone December. But with so much happening in the technology world, it’s not surprising that 2016 was a busy – and great – one for us. In fact, it has been our most successful business year date. To give you an idea of what we have been up to (and to jog our own memories), here is a little taste of what the Comit team was up to in 2016.
In previous editions of our B2B Social Media Masterclass series we looked at how businesses can maximise their B2B profiles through LinkedIn and Twitter. However, businesses also need to generate interesting, original content that can be pushed out through those social media networks and encourage engagement. One of the best ways to do this and reach your target audience is through a blog.
How much do you allocate to your PR and content marketing budget? A study by Google and CEB, B2B Digital Evolution, shows us that the B2B world has changed – because buyer behaviour has changed. Know your client. Each client is different and each client is different in their very own way. The key is to get to know your client.
Interns, assemble. Starting off your career as an intern won’t be a month-long montage of you picking up dry-cleaning, doing coffee runs or covered in paper-cuts after endless piles of shredding. The role of an intern has evolved. Businesses are competing with one another to hire the best graduates to invest their time and training in. Here are some tips to help you secure the PR internship you’ve always wanted.
With continued expansion of the tech industry in Ireland, Comit takes a look at the importance of public relations, digital marketing and marketing communications in this ever-growing industry.
Imagine waking up in the morning and finding your website SEO ranking has plummeted from page 1 to page 8 or lower. A new SEO ranking factor could mean just that. Google’s new mobile friendly algorithm launched on April 21st 2015 and it carried with it important consequences for the SEO ranking of your website.
Maintaining a balance of traditional PR and digital PR in your company’s strategy is extremely important. It isn’t as delicate an operation as cooking to Heston Blumenthal’s standards, however it requires a fine level of experience, skill and knowledge in both elements of PR.
PR offers great opportunities to build a truly exciting, fast moving and dynamic career, but before you go off and book yourself onto the next Public Relations Masters programme, you might take a minute to consider if you REALLY have the right ‘stuff’ for a great career in PR.
