Nobody wants to be in a crisis but in reality, it can and does happen. And if prevention efforts have failed, the next best thing you can do is deal with the crisis in the most effective way possible. Regardless of the incident, if you have a crisis communications plan it will help you to deal with the crisis quickly and efficiently, therefore limiting the damage to your company’s good name, your customers and your shareholders.
As a small nation, we’ve created a wonderful brand for Ireland worldwide. Just look at the great PR St. Patrick’s Day does for Ireland, and the large numbers of iconic buildings and landmarks worldwide that ‘turn green’ on the day. State agencies such as Tourism Ireland, IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland carry out fantastic work on behalf of Irish businesses to ensure that we punch above our weight in terms of brand recognition and goodwill globally.
If you had a broken arm you won’t go to an optometrist; you’d go straight to A&E. The same logic applies to technology companies looking to raise their profiles: the best way to get the service you need is through a specialist tech PR agency.

Comit’s 2016: A Year in Review
Here at Comit, we’re in slight disbelief that the year has come to a close already. It seems like only yesterday that we were flicking through our 2016 year planner, thinking how far-off even February seemed, let alone December. But with so much happening in the technology world, it’s not surprising that 2016 was a busy – and great – one for us. In fact, it has been our most successful business year date. To give you an idea of what we have been up to (and to jog our own memories), here is a little taste of what the Comit team was up to in 2016.
How much do you allocate to your PR and content marketing budget? A study by Google and CEB, B2B Digital Evolution, shows us that the B2B world has changed – because buyer behaviour has changed. The report found that buyers will self-serve 57% of the sales process before engaging with sales. They want to engage with sellers on their terms and at a time of their choosing.
Imagine, for a moment, a typical PR agency. Bustling corridors filled with people in sharp suits, ready to spring into action and represent whoever, whenever. A client roster consisting of hundreds of top tier companies from all corners of industry, a huge staff with glittering PR accreditations; if you were looking for a company to represent you, surely this would be it… Or would it? What if, with so many clients to cater to, from so many different industries, something got lost along the way?
At Comit, Ireland’s leading technology PR agency, we do things a little differently. Our team specialises in tech PR, so you know you’re always getting the best service with a personal touch. As well as that, we come from a variety of backgrounds, with extensive experience in areas such as PR and communications, journalism, tech and event management. Our expertise, coupled with our specialist knowledge of tech PR and passion for client growth, means that with Comit nothing ever gets lost along the way, and we always exceed our clients’ expectations.
Ireland is experiencing a tech and digital explosion. New tech start-ups are popping up every day, while increasingly, large multinationals are choosing Ireland as their European hub. It’s a fascinating time and an exciting place to be—what ambitious PR professional looking to build a career wouldn't want to be a part of that?
At Comit, we’re lucky to be able to say that we are right there in the middle of it. From multinational giants to Irish-born start-ups, through tech PR and marketing, we help clients grow and pride ourselves on being a part of their success stories. It is witnessing that success that drives the Comit team.
This blog isn’t anything to do with a mission to find new life on the far side of the moon. It’s far more exciting; here’s how to further your career in the world of technology.
Know your client. Each client is different and each client is different in their very own way. One might love an idea for a photoshoot that takes place on a mountain-top with an elephant’s trunk holding their logo while acrobats backflip in the foreground, while another client may quickly backflip away from that same idea. The key is to get to know your client.
